Koh Panyi or Panyi island is a fishing village in Phang Nga province, Southern of the kingdom of Thailand, The settlement at Koh Panyi was established at the end of the 18th century, Notable for being built on stilts by Javanese fisherman. The population consists of roughly 360 families or around 1,700 people descended from 2 seafaring Muslim families from Java, Indonesia.
