"Vinter" på ingång även i Thailand

Temperature drops as cold spell moves in
The temperature on Thailand's highest mountain, Doi Inthanon, is dropping gradually, signaling the end of the rainy season and then start of the cold season this year.
Officials of Doi Inthanon National Park recorded  six degrees Celsius on Wednesday, the coldest ever for the year.
The arrival of the cold  spell from Mainland China coupling with warm  pressure wind is now causing fogs in the northern region.
Heavy fog is occurring at many places in the North due to the temperature drop.
The temperature in Chiang Mai dropped by about two degrees Celsius on Wednesday, compared to the previous day, forcing more locals to go  shopping for sweaters and jackets to keep them warm.
Although the low temperature recorded at Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest peak, was only six degrees Celsius, the reading in downtown Chiang Mai was reported to be 22 degrees Celsius in the morning.
The weather station in Chiang Rai reported a temperature of 20.3 degrees Celsius, also a two degrees drop from the day before.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department  forecasted that the temperature in upper Thailand will decline further beginning this coming Sunday.
